WELCOME TO THE WINSTON CHURCHILL CENTRE AT THE BRITISH NORMANDY MEMORIAL

A PLACE FOR LEARNING, REFLECTION AND CONNECTION

Opened on the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the Winston Churchill Centre for Education supports the British Normandy Memorial’s growing education programme—ensuring that the stories and lessons of the past continue to reach new generations.

At the heart of our work is Operation Remembrance, a structured learning experience designed for school groups and young visitors. Delivered across the Memorial site and within the Centre, it combines thoughtful interpretation, active learning and first-hand testimony to help students connect emotionally and intellectually with history. Today, we welcome schools from across the UK, France and beyond.

As demand continues to grow, we are working to expand the Centre to create a purpose-built education facility capable of delivering this programme at scale and reaching many more young people each year.

Whether visiting as part of a school trip or engaging through our wider youth initiatives, young people are placed at the heart of everything we do.
